As a global nonprofit working in over 80 countries, our 36,000 institutions serve and support nearly 25 million students and 5 million educatorsevery day.
AdvancED was created through a 2006 merger of the PreK-12 divisions of the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI)—and expanded through the addition of the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC) in 2011.
Cognia was created through a 2018 merger of AdvancED and Measured Progress. The result of the merger of AdvancED and Measured Progress, Cognia was formed to bridge the gap between school evaluation and student assessment.
